PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Flyers are picking up an old Phillies tradition with their own spin on Dollar Dog Night.
Monday's game against the visiting Avalanche is the first of two $1 hot dog games scheduled for the still-winless orange-and-black this season.
The Phillies launched their Dollar Dog Night promotion in 1997 and ran it for more than 25 years.
But they pulled the plug on it in 2004 after frustrations with fans throwing their franks on the field.
The Flyers' next scheduled $1 hot dog game is on March 2 against the Vegas Golden Knights.
