PHILADELPHIA (WIP Sportsradio) — There's usually not much overlap between football and "The Bachelor" fans, but those worlds have collided.
Former Eagle Emmanuel Acho announced he will host "The Bachelor: After the Final Rose."
On Saturday, Acho posted on Twitter that he will host the reunion episode on March 15, replacing long-time host Chris Harrison, whose controversial statements led to temporary time away from the show.
Acho is currently an analyst for Fox Sports, co-hosting "Speak For Yourself" alongside Marcellus Wiley. He also turned his popular show "Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man" into a best-selling book with the same name.
Most Philadelphia fans will remember his days as a linebacker for the Eagles back in 2013 and 2014, when he stepped in for an injured Najee Goode.
His best season came in 2014 when he recorded 265 defensive snaps and 103 special teams snaps in 14 games. He was resigned in 2015 but failed to see the field before he was waived.
In his latest endeavor hosting "The Bachelor," Acho will sit down with the star bachelor, Matt James, and discuss the season with his top three finalists. James is the first Black male lead of "The Bachelor" in its history.
"Extra" correspondent Rachel Lindsay, who was the first Black female lead on the show, had suggested Acho replace Harrison.
