PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A former SEPTA Transit Police officer has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for possession and distribution of child sex abuse materials.

Brian Zenszer, 44, of Warminster, admitted he shared child sexual abuse materials in July 2024 and had a cellphone with explicit depictions of minors last November.

Investigators also say Zenszer posted child sexual abuse material on the messaging app Kik through two different accounts.

He was taken into custody in November, charged in December and pleaded guilty in April to one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

At the time of his arrest, Zenszer was employed as a SEPTA officer. The transit agency called the allegations "disturbing" and said they were fully cooperating with law enforcement.

Zenszer has been ordered to pay $32,000 in restitution.
