PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are investigating a shooting in West Philadelphia that sent four people to the hospital Tuesday evening.
According to officials, three men and one woman were shot just after 5 p.m. near 42nd Street and Girard Avenue.
"The scene consists of six spent shell casings," said Chief Inspector Scott Small, "so we know at least six shots were fired from a semi-automatic weapon or weapons. "Also on the scene, close to the spent shell casings, we found a folding knife with a 4-inch blade. So we don't know if that's involved or how it's involved."
Medics took two of the men to the hospital, while police transported the third one. The woman arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle.
Authorities said the four of them were in stable condition, but police did not say where they were hit.
Investigators have not yet established a motive, and no arrests have been made.
