PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Some Disney magic is coming to Philadelphia this week as a one-of-a-kind exhibition celebrating 100 years of the Walt Disney company, makes its world premiere at the Franklin Institute.

The exhibit, Disney 100, features 250 objects from Disney archives – with each piece telling the story from the beginning of Disney, all the way through today and even looking into the future.

Franklin Institute president and CEO Larry Dubinski says those objects include things like the original black panther costume, Winnie the Pooh, and even models of the early Pinocchio.

“There’s things for all those that love princesses as well,” he said. “You have a variety of things no matter what you’re favorite Disney character is.”

Dubinski says the exhibition is broken down into 10 immersive galleries.

“People will come in here, they’ll have this sense of wow and say hey, where can I learn more and also see how things happen and come together,” he said.

Becky Cline, director of the Disney archives, has been a Disney employee for more than 3 decades.

She says watching the Disney 100 exhibition come to life was a dream come true.

“It’s something I’ve been dreaming about, and thinking about and giving input into for quite a while now, and to see it actually happening and the joy that I think it’s going to bring to people is so exciting and fulfilling for me,” she said.

The exhibit opens this weekend and will run through August.
