BURLINGTON, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — Burlington County, New Jersey is continuing its efforts to boost COVID-19 vaccination rates. Although the county is making some strides, the effort is far from over.

The Burlington County Health Department and Deborah Specialty Physicians have planned a walk-in COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine clinic for Monday afternoon.

Once someone receives a shot at the Burlington County site, they will then get a free dinner from Mary's Mobile Diner. Anyone who is at least 12 years old is eligible.

"People like incentives to come and get vaccinations," said Burlington County Health Department Director Dr. Herb Conaway.

"We've been matching our food distribution program with the vaccination program, so that people can come and get protection for themselves and their families and the community as well as getting a good meal."

More than 227,000 Burlington County residents have now been fully vaccinated. That's more then 55% of county residents 12 and older.

"We want to move that number as high as we can for the protection of the entire family," said Dr. Conaway.

In addition to this pop-up clinic, the county is opening four fixed weekly vaccination clinics in Westampton, Palymyra, Edgewater Park and Bordentown. Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines will be available.

"Any opportunity to get vaccinated by any of the available vaccines," Dr. Conaway said, "I'm urging people to take it."
