PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Officials are looking for a 28-year-old they say brutally stabbed a woman in Frankford, then stuffed her body in a futon couch.

It had been a few days since the friends of Yuleisy Carolina Torrelles-Martinez had seen the 21-year-old. She wasn’t answering the door to her apartment on Frankford Avenue near University Street, so they decided to contact police, who found the woman inside a futon wrapped in a shower curtain and trash bags.

Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore said she had been stabbed multiple times throughout her body.

“That began a homicide investigation into this incident, where lots of video and interviews were done along with evidence that was collected.”

Now, police have an arrest warrant for Gerelys Sanchez-Reyes, who is wanted on murder charges. She was last seen with Torrelles-Martinez.

“I don’t know what the motive is at this point, or what cause,” Vanore said. “We have enough evidence to believe she was involved in her murder.”

Sources say the two were exotic dancers and may have known each other through work.

Police ask anyone with information to call them, even if they remain anonymous, at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
