A man is facing child endangerment charges after authorities say he threatened to throw a baby off of an I-95 overpass Thursday.
The District Attorney's Office said they have charged Raheem Murphy, 35, with aggravated assault, kidnapping and endangering the welfare of a child among other offenses.
Murphy is being held on $1.5 million bail.

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Drivers on I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia Thursday afternoon encountered a frightening scene, as a man was reportedly threatening to throw a baby off of an overpass before a good Samaritan intervened.
Christine King said she was on her way to work near Cottman Avenue when she saw the man argue with someone she believed to be the mother of the baby. He then grabbed the child.
"I saw him try to put the baby over [the overpass],” King told NBC10.
“I parked the car and I ran … I said, 'Just let the baby go, Let the baby go. Give me the baby.'"
She said she was trying to negotiate with the man, but he pushed her and threatened to shoot her.

Eventually, the woman believed to be the mother was able to remove a gun from the back of his pants.
Once police got there, they took over and after a brief standoff, the man released the baby.
Law enforcement confirms the man is in custody, but Philadelphia Police and Pennsylvania State Police did not initially release information about the incident.
