PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance has launched Philadelphia’s first-ever Social Impact Database.
This new digital resource highlights more than 100 social impact programs in the city, including areas in education, youth development, and mental health.
“We want to expand people's understanding of the ways that arts and culture contribute to the vibrancy of our communities,” said Cultural Alliance President and CEO Patricia Wilson Aden. “So we wanted to lift up the idea that arts and culture contributes to the social well-being of our communities.”
The database offers a searchable online directory of these programs and a report for constituent service professionals, including members of City Council, but Wilson Aden says anyone can access it.
“We understand that very often, residents will contact members of City Council and contact various agencies to say, ‘I'm looking for this service,’ and we wanted to ensure that those offices were able to respond with real information.”
Wilson Aden says people can search things using ZIP codes, districts or “the particular discipline you are looking for.” The majority of the programs are free.
