NORRISTOWN, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Three men have each pleaded guilty to murder charges, following a shootout in Norristown last year that killed an innocent man sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner.
Tymere Parker, 21, and 20-year-olds Savian Creary and Kevon Clarke all pleaded guilty to third degree murder charges in the death of 25-year-old Edilberto Pelaez Moctezuma. Clarke was sentenced to 20-40 years in prison.
Creary and Parker also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder and were each sentenced to 25-50 years in prison.
Prosecutors said the pair waited outside Clarke's home near Arch and Basin streets in Norristown on November 25 last year, then opened fire when he came out.
Clarke returned fire. One of his bullets went through a window, fatally striking Moctezuma in the back.
The pleas came as their trial was about to start, avoiding a possible life sentence.
Earlier this month, two other men were sent to prison for life after they were convicted of first degree murder for a similar shootout in Norristown that killed a bystander.
