PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A former Harriton High School teacher pleaded guilty Monday to child pornography charges.
Federal prosecutors allege while 32-year-old Jeremy Schobel was a teacher at the Bryn Mawr school he posed as a teenage girl online and solicited underage girls to send sexually explicit images of themselves.
The case was brought to the attention of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in November 2022.
A federal investigation was launched, and in June, Schobel was arrested and held on charges of receiving, making, and attempting to make child pornography.
Federal officials say there may have been hundreds of victims – so far, six have been identified.
The admission waives his right to a trial. Sentencing is scheduled for June 25.
He could get a maximum of 170 years in prison.
