PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Neon. Satin. Sparkles.

The HiJinx Festival is back at the Pennsylvania Convention Center for its sixth year.

“It’s just the energy, a chance to relax, dance… I love dancing,” said Leanne, who is in town with her husband from Ithaca, New York. It’s her third time attending HiJinx.

“There’s music for everybody, every type of music — EDM, electronic — but there’s a lot of different categories I guess that falls in that. They do a great job with that and then the visuals are incredible.”

This year’s lineup features some of the world’s biggest in EDM like Madeon, Subtronics and Zeds Dead.

But beyond the music and star power, Saul from Boston says it’s also about the people you meet.

“It’s such a loving community that everyone just loves each other, and everyone just vibes with each other no matter where you’re from, or what you’re wearing, who you are. It’s just about the culture.”

The two-day festival got underway Friday at 4:30 p.m. It runs until the early morning hours then kicks off again Saturday at the same time. Those with leftover energy after the shows can attend an afterparty at NOTO on Vine Street or The Ave on Columbus Boulevard.
