PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A husband and wife were fatally shot right outside of their home in the Cobbs Creek section of Philadelphia early Friday morning.

The couple arrived at their house, near 61st and Locust streets, just before 3 a.m.

“They were returning home and they were just a few feet from the front steps of their house when they were shot multiple times and killed,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

At least 18 shots were fired. The woman, identified as Nicole Lee-Bullock, was 43 years old and the man, identified as Andrew Bullock, was 47.

A purse and cell phones were found on the ground by their bodies, police said. A gun, still in its holster, that belonged to one of the victims was also at the scene, but police do not believe they had enough time to defend themselves from the shooter.

Investigators are not initially sure of a motive or if anything was taken from the victims. Police did not have a description of a shooter. They spoke with neighbors to see if anyone saw or heard anything and to see if there was surveillance footage of the incident.

One woman who lives on the block but did not wish to be identified said her mother heard at least six blasts of gunfire.

Family members of the victims, including their children, were inside the house at the time of the shooting, police said.
