I-76 killing allegedly stemmed from road rage, NJ State Police say

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — New Jersey State Police say they want the public's help as they investigate a deadly shooting stemming from an apparent incident of road rage on I-76 in Camden County.

At about 10:30 p.m. on January 24, a state trooper found Louis Ciccanti, Jr. shot and killed inside his black 2004 Mercedes Benz 500 on I-76 eastbound in Mount Ephraim Borough, authorities said.

According to a preliminary investigation, police said the victim and someone driving an unidentified black sedan got involved in a "road rage incident" as both were going east on I-76 near Passyunk Avenue in Philadelphia.

Surveillance video below shows the vehicles crossing the Walt Whitman Bridge in New Jersey.

Authorities are asking anyone who saw what happened, or any other information connected to the incident, to call the Camden County Prosecutor's Office at 856-783-4900 or e-mail ccpotips@ccprosecutor.org. People can leave anonymous tips.
