PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — There are many complicated terms in health care. “Integrated virtual health care” has to be one of them. However, it is not that complicated when you break it down.

Integrated virtual health care is provided to a patient using a combination of visits to the doctor’s office and appointments using telehealth tools.

A new study in the Annals of Family Medicine looked at people who were getting care in this hybrid setting and found that nine out of 10 were extremely satisfied. During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, telehealth was rushed into use to provide remote care when it was a great risk to be seen in the doctor’s office or hospital setting.

Certainly, all care can’t be delivered through a phone or computer, but the mixture seems to be working.
