PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Our world has become more connected over the last 50 years. A major report from Australian researchers suggests that it is easier than ever for diseases, like the flu and COVID-19, to spread from one part of the world to another.
At the foundation of health is proper nutrition. It is estimated that two-thirds of people in low-income countries experience food insecurity as well as limited access to medicine and care. Diseases can wreak havoc on an individual who lacks a healthy diet.
The researchers said it is only a matter of time before diseases that are not properly prevented and treated in these economically challenged countries crisscross the globe.
