PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 23-year-old Telford man has been ordered to stand trial on charges that he broke into several homes of older, single women, raping one and lifting the nightgown of another while she slept.
John Gray, from Main Street in Telford, will stand trial on 40 charges, including rape, burglary, and sexual assault, as police said on May 10, 2025, he broke into the Dock Woods home of a woman in her 90s while she slept and raped her.
He’s accused of trying to break into another home that same night, and entering two homes on Nov. 8 while women slept, touching the one woman’s hip, and trying to lift the other’s nightgown. Both women said he ran when they yelled.
Prosecutor Lauren Marvel credits law enforcement and the women who came forward.
“And their willingness to come forward and have painful and difficult conversations with law enforcement officers.”
Investigators said Gray’s car was seen in the area at the times of the break-ins, and a person fitting his description in similar clothing was seen on video from nearby homes.
Gray’s attorney said he was staying with someone who lives nearby.
