KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A King of Prussia man accused of hiding a camera in a neighbor’s apartment is back behind bars after a Montgomery County judge upped his bail from $50,000 to $1 million.

Charges against 27-year-old Ryan Selleny include burglary, criminal trespass, and invasion of privacy after a woman in the Kingswood Apartment complex in King of Prussia found a phone charger plugged into the kitchen of her studio apartment. As she looked closer she realized it was a camera. Police say they traced that camera back to Selleny who lives in the same complex.

In addition to videos from the camera, detectives also found a lock-picking kit, the woman’s spare key, and two baggies containing items that were stolen from the victim's home without her knowledge.

Prosecutor Lauren Marvel says there were several reasons they asked for the bail to be increased — one being detectives finding packaging in Selleny’s apartment for four cameras, but only recovering three.

Marvel says the cameras are incredibly subtle, appearing like the base of a phone charger with a slot where the cord is plugged in.

“There's a very small pinhole camera that you can see when you inspect them closely,” she said. “I would encourage anyone that thinks that it's possible one of these was put inside their home to check those outlets to see if it's possibly in their home.”

Investigators say the device had been recording for months. One of the videos sees Selleny pleasuring himself in the woman’s bed into a jug of water, which the woman later drank.

Marvel credits the woman for being brave enough to come forward to testify at the bail hearing, saying the woman told the judge, with the lower bail, Selleny would be free to go back to his apartment, but she never could.
