PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Last week, President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 race for the White House and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the new Democratic nominee.
While Harris has not yet announced a potential running mate, people have been theorizing that Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro could be on the short list.
Shapiro has not yet commented on the speculations, but on Friday, when Philadelphia Building and Construction Trades Council endorsed Harris, they voiced their support for Shapiro — with Democratic City Committee Chair Bob Brady saying Shapiro as vice president would be a "slam dunk."
If Harris wins the Democratic presidential nomination and chooses Shapiro, what would that mean for the commonwealth?

KYW's Matt Leon talked with Dr. John Kennedy, a political science professor at West Chester University, about how the historic events of the past few weeks have impacted the election outlook.
