PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The vast majority of people who contracted COVID-19 have not been hospitalized.
It’s easy to overlook them because of the devastating impact on those who need inpatient care, but we are learning a great deal about those who had so-called minor cases.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, among adults with COVID-19 who did not require a hospital stay, two out of three had at least one outpatient visit to the doctor for a complication one to six months after the diagnosis.
The leading symptoms: chest or throat pain, shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, and persistent cough.
