KYW Medical Report: How COVID-19 differs in other parts of the world

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Depending on the availability of the vaccine in the part of the world where you live, the virus is acting differently.

If you watch or listen to international news, the COVID-19 updates sound very different, and much of it has to do with the availability and distribution of the vaccine.

Reports from the United Kingdom anticipate a third wave, while Southeast Asia is experiencing problematic growing trends. The reports reflect the vast differences in availability and desire to get the vaccine.

The reason is easy to explain. COVID-19 will follow a natural pattern when there are no vaccines, just like the pattern we have seen since early 2020. The more effectively shots are given worldwide, the quicker things can return to normal worldwide.
