PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Burlington County arrested a man they said was illegally carrying a gun while intoxicated on an NJ Transit Light Rail platform.

It happened in Riverside around 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers saw Markis Harrison yelling at people on the street. When they approached him, they discovered he was drinking tequila through a straw and holding a glass pipe used for narcotics.

Police said the 35-year-old was also unlawfully carrying a semi-automatic handgun with about a dozen rounds of ammo.

Harrison is facing several charges, including possession of a firearm and an open alcohol container in public.

Authorities also learned he had an outstanding arrest warrant in Cherry Hill Township.
