PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — One man is critical after a shooting led to a car crash in North Philadelphia late Friday night.
Just before midnight, police responded to calls about a person with a gun near Westmoreland and Bailey streets, near the Nicetown-Tioga section of the city. When they arrived, they found a blood trail and ballistic evidence.
Officers were then called to a crash near Broad and Cayuga streets, where a 40-year-old man was sitting in the driver’s seat of a 2011 Audi, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was taken to the hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
Later that night, a 42-year-old man walked into the hospital and said he and the 40-year-old went to the shooting scene after getting a phone call about an altercation. When they got there, they got out of the Audi, and a person started shooting at them. The 40-year-old drove off, and the 42-year-old ran away from the scene.
No arrests have been made.
