PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A pedestrian is dead after being hit by two vehicles early Sunday in the Lawndale neighborhood of Philadelphia.
Officials said the incident happened near 6800 Oxford Avenue just before 2 a.m. Sunday, with the scene stretched out for about a quarter-mile.
A 20-year-old man was hit by a white Ford Taurus traveling southbound along Oxford, according to police. Shortly after that, the man was hit again, this time by a Dodge Charger.
The driver of the charger stayed on the scene and called 911. Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead minutes later.
Investigators said the driver of the Taurus initially left the scene before returning and talking to police. No arrests have been made.
