PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Clifton Heights man has been found guilty of murdering 15-year-old Upper Darby High School student Michael Garr three years ago.
Garr was walking home in Drexel Hill, Delaware County, in August 2023 when he was stabbed multiple times. Police arrested 26-year-old Marson Weh a week and a half later.
The Delco Times reported Weh appeared to confess to the crime in court on Wednesday. He said, “I do apologize. I am the killer of Michael Garr. I am, in fact, guilty.”
It was caught on a court microphone, but jurors didn’t hear it.
Delaware County District Attorney Tanner Rouse argued that it should be admitted as evidence. Weh’s lawyer said it should be considered a privileged conversation with his lawyer and should be ignored.
Rouse ultimately dropped the issue.
The jury deliberated for just half an hour on Thursday before finding Weh guilty. He will be sentenced on Nov. 5.
