
PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — One of the young men who admitted to shooting teenagers at a bus stop in Northeast Philadelphia was sentenced Wednesday morning for his role in the March 2024 incident.
Jermahd Carter, who turned 21 on Wednesday, was sentenced to 10 to 20 years behind bars after pleading guilty in April to a single attempted murder charge and several aggravated assault charges.
Eight Northeast High School students between the ages of 15 and 17 were shot while waiting for a bus at Cottman and Rising Sun avenues in the city’s Burholme neighborhood.
All survived, including a 16-year-old who was shot nine times.
