PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Philadelphia man has been charged with attempted murder and related offenses for allegedly shooting a man on May 12.
Police arrested Jermaine Allen last week. They say he approached the man and his four-month-old baby – who was in a car seat on the ground at the time of the incident – while they were waiting for a ride near the 3700 block of Germantown Avenue just before 11 p.m. Allen then allegedly shot at the man six times, with four of the bullets striking him in the leg.
A woman who was driving down Germantown Avenue at the time of the shooting said a bullet struck her front headlight. The victim and his baby – who was not harmed – were taken to a nearby hospital by a witness. Both the man and baby are okay.
What led to the shooting is not yet known.
Allen is being held on $3 million bail and a stay-away order.
