PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man was shot and killed while driving an SUV in the Hunting Park section of the city Sunday night.

The shooting happened around 8 p.m. near Front and Courtland streets.

Witnesses told police a man in a Toyota got out of his car, walked up to the SUV, and opened fire.

Inspector Michael Gormley said the victim was shot in the head.

“There were several shots fired. How many shots actually struck the victim is still to be determined,” he said.

He said the man had an out-of-state license, and investigators are investigating whether the SUV was a rental.

The shooter was last seen driving north on Front Street in the Toyota.

No arrests have been made yet, and no weapons have been recovered.

This is an ongoing investigation.
