PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are looking for two people who robbed a man of his expensive watch and jewelry, then shot him in Northeast Philadelphia overnight.
Around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, officers were called to Knorr Street, a residential block close to Bustleton Avenue. There, they found a wounded 23-year-old man who had been shot in the leg.
“The victim double-parked his vehicle right outside of a friend’s house. Was walking to that friend’s house when he was approached by the two males,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small. “They took a Rolex watch from his wrist, and they ripped some chains from his neck.”
They also took an undisclosed amount of cash.
Even though they got what they wanted, they shot the victim right below the knee, police said.
The robbers, who were wearing gray hooded sweatshirts, got away in a gray Nissan sedan, Small said.
Medics took the victim to the hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Police are looking through surveillance footage and investigating whether this incident is connected to other robberies that have taken place in the area.
