
PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — SEPTA’s Manayunk-Norristown Line was suspended Thursday morning because a train fatally struck a man in East Falls.
It happened around 9 a.m. at the Regional Rail train crossing at Schoolhouse Lane, which is between East Falls and Wissahickon stations.
The man was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition, where he later died.
Shuttle buses took about 300 passengers who were on the train to Center City.
This is the second train to hit and kill someone in a matter of hours. A Media-Wawa Line train struck and killed someone between Morton and Secane stations around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
