PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker took another stab at the Eagles cheer Thursday as she welcomed the team’s Road to Victory bus tour to LOVE Park.

“Your mayor went out there and got in trouble, y’all,” she joked to the crowd.

Parker has been a good sport about mangling her spelling during an impromptu Eagles cheer while talking about the snow last Sunday. She flubbed the chant, saying, “E-L-G-S-E-S!”

“We have to show the nation that your mayor’s also a good student,” she said. “So Philly, are you ready to teach your mayor? Teach your mayor: How do we spell Eagles?”

The crowd replied: “E-A-G-L-E-S!”

The mayor rallied about 100 fans who braved the cold to show their devotion to the team. The drum line and cheerleaders entertained, while Hall of Famer Tra Thomas predicted victory.

“The road right now is not only perfect for the team to get to the Super Bowl but to win it as well,” he said.

The Eagles host the Commanders on Sunday at 3 p.m.
