PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — It is estimated that 30 million Americans could benefit from hearing aids, but many people deny they have a problem.
A major warning sign is adjusting radio or television volumes louder than preferred by others. This can be obvious, but there are less obvious signs. People with hearing loss often have difficulty hearing in a group or become tired with prolonged listening.
There are also key warning signs there might be a more serious issue or an acute problem. For instance, if you experience a new onset of dizziness or ringing in the ears or if there is a discharge from one ear, it can be a sign of something that needs immediate treatment. Hearing loss should not be ignored
