PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Low back pain is extremely common. The lifetime prevalence can be as high as 60% and while many people only have short-term pain, others suffer from chronic issues that last far longer.

Many people develop low back pain in the workplace due to numerous factors including work-related stress, poorly designed workplace workstations and the fact that many of us have poor posture and body mechanics made worse by inactivity.

Researchers at the Cleveland Clinic looked at people who took virtual yoga classes for twelve weeks and compared them with those on a waitlist for future classes.

Not only did they find that back pain improved in those taking yoga — it did not lead to further harm.
