PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Labor Day is a time for celebration — whether you are celebrating those who work hard or the long holiday weekend. But it can also create some high-risk situations.

Car accidents caused by drunk drivers are very common. In fact, the National Highway Safety Administration uses Labor Day to kick off its national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.

In 2021, it found that alcohol-impaired driving crashes increased by almost 15%.

If you are driving, don't drink, and make sure everyone is buckled up. You need to be alert because other drivers may be impaired.
