Medical Report: Smartphones can be good for your health, too

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Smartphones have become a major part of our lives. Without doubt, that comes with some downsides for our health. For instance, some people may miss out on personal interaction because they live in a world of social media. And smartphones pose a major risk to drivers who look at them while they are driving.

But fewer people may be aware of the ways the technology can improve our health. Smartphones have activity trackers, and there are numerous apps available to help users with exercise and diet.

Also, look for the “in case of emergency section” in the settings. In the event of a medical emergency, this can provide important information for responders.
