PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Thanksgiving has become one of our nation’s most important family holidays. As a result, it is one of the highest-volume travel days of the year.
As we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, many of us are returning to a more normal Thanksgiving. For many of us, that means travel.
More than 55 million Americans will take to the road to celebrate with loved ones in person. At this moment, at least one person out of six who hear this report on the radio are either traveling or preparing to travel.
The combination of increased highway volume and drivers who may be fatigued, stressed or impaired can make the trip potentially dangerous. Make certain you and the family are in seat belts or car seats.
One more key point: If you are going to be driving, make certain you are alert and avoid alcohol.
