PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Physicians get lots of questions about motion sickness in the summer because people are traveling on road trips or on vacation and riding in boats.
If you have experienced motion sickness, you know that symptoms include nausea, cold sweats, dizziness and even vomiting.
Motion sickness is triggered by movement and certain people are more susceptible than others. There are medications that can be taken to help prevent it, but simple tips include staying away from alcohol, avoiding closed-in areas like the back seat of a car, and drinking plenty of water.
If you are in motion as a passenger, avoid reading.
