PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The woman whose two young children were found living in severely unsanitary conditions inside a home in Northeast Philadelphia has been sentenced.
Megan Bach, 44, was arrested on a slew of child endangerment and animal neglect charges over the summer after authorities combed through the Oxford Circle house they deemed “uninhabitable” and found a 5-year-old and 8-month-old living in the home, along with more than 120 cats.
The home had no running water or electricity, had bugs, and was overrun with animal feces and urine.
Bach pleaded guilty in August to four counts, including child endangerment and conspiracy.
She is prohibited from having pets in the future. Bach was sentenced Friday to up to two years in prison, with three years of probation.
Her husband, Thomas Bach, has pleaded guilty to the same charges. He is set to be sentenced in December.
The children are currently living with relatives.
