NEW JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — A Montgomery County police officer fatally shot a man who, officials say, tried to break into a home in Upper Pottsgrove Township early Sunday morning.
Police say it was close to 12:30 a.m. when the officer spotted the man in the back of a home on Snyder Road after responding to a call about a possible break-in.
Officials say the officer then got into an encounter with him and fired a shot, striking and killing him.
It's unknown whether the man was armed.
Montgomery County officials are investigating.
