LANSDALE, P.A. (KYW Newsradio) — A 22-year-old man already charged with breaking into the home of an elderly woman in her 90s and raping her, is now charged in connection with three other break-ins, where authorities said he assaulted two other women.

John Gray of Telford, is now charged with multiple counts of burglary and sexual assault, in addition to burglary and rape charges that were filed Saturday.

The new charges stem from three other similar break-ins. One happened on the same night Gray is accused of raping the woman in her 90s. Police said about a half-hour before he broke into her home, he tried to break into the home of her 79-year-old neighbor, but ran away when she screamed when she saw him climbing in her window.

On Nov. 8, Gray is accused of breaking into a 72-year-old woman’s home around 3 a.m., and lifting her nightgown. Police said he ran away when she screamed.

A half-hour later, he is accused of breaking into a home on Crosshill Court in Lansdale, and touching a woman’s hip while she slept. He ran away when she yelled for her husband who was out on the patio at the time.

In all four break-ins, police said the women lived alone, or were typically alone at night. All the incidents happened between the hours of 2:25 and 3:20 a.m.

Gray was ruled a threat to the public and denied bail. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for next month.
