PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man is fighting for his life after a serious motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon in North Philadelphia.
Police said the crash happened around 2 p.m. as a man on a Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling south on 17th Street, heading towards the intersection of Allegheny Avenue.
At the intersection, authorities said a car made an illegal U-turn in front of the motorcycle. The rider avoided the car but hit a pole.
He was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition.
Authorities are searching for the driver of the vehicle that made the illegal U-turn and then fled the scene.
