PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Mural Arts Philadelphia's walking tours resume this spring, exploring the murals on the sides of buildings across the city.

This year, three new neighborhoods have been added to the on-foot, 90-minute adventures: Bella Vista, West Philly and Spring Garden.

"The murals really are the autobiography of our city," said Executive Director Jane Golden, "and the fact that there is a collection of over 4,000 of them that grace the sides of buildings everywhere, and that the work represents the citizens and the voice of artists, more importantly, that we can shine the light on the extraordinary talent that exists in this city — it is just absolutely inspiring."

Tour guides will tell the stories and symbolism associated with each artwork visited on the route. The Mural Mile Center City Walking Tour also returns this year.

The tours start up this weekend and continue on select days through May. Only 10 guests are allowed per tour.
