PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — An ongoing dispute between two North Philadelphia neighbors turned violent overnight when one of the men stabbed the other at least 10 times, according to police.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. Friday near 16th and Wingohocking streets, just a few blocks away from Broad Street.

Investigators said two men live a few doors down from each other. Their fight got out of hand, and one man stabbed the other all over his body at least 10 times.

When cops and medics got to the scene, the 47-year-old victim was on the front steps of his house.

“He was semi-conscious. He was bleeding heavily. Police and medics picked him up,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he is in critical condition.

Small said the 43-year-old who stabbed him stayed on scene and spoke with police. He was then taken into custody.

Neighbors told police that there had been an ongoing dispute between the two men. Police did not say what they were feuding about. They are looking back in their records to see if police responded to this block before.
