NEW JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — New Jersey’s Assembly unanimously passed a bill to remove certain restrictions on breweries in the state.
Brewery owners say limits on public events were killing their businesses. The bill to remove those restrictions has now passed the Senate and Assembly without any opposition.
“It’s a great day. We’re actually now officially out of the legislature …,” said Brewers Guild President Eric Orlando.
Orlando hopes Gov. Murphy acts quickly and signs the bill into law as soon as possible. The bill removes limits for events on-site, increases the number of off-site events, and eliminates some red tape.
“That really impacted the kind of experience that consumers had, including types of television programming, music, the ability to have food trucks on site – a whole host of things.”
The restrictions have been in place since July 2022. The bill is now on Murphy’s desk awaiting his signature.
