CLAYTON, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — A South Jersey school bus driver faces multiple charges after police say she was drunk on the job.

Authorities say Suzanne Storms was transporting about two dozen students to Herma Simmons Elementary School in Clayton Friday morning when investigators got a tip that she was drunk.

Storms failed a field sobriety test and was arrested. She was charged with driving under the influence, plus endangering the welfare of a child. A substitute bus driver was able to drive the bus back to school and safely drop off the kids.

Storms has been since released from custody.

District Superintendent Nikolaos C. Koutsogiannis released a statement apologizing for Storms' behavior and confirmed the district will terminate her employment effective immediately.
