PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man accused of creating child sexual abuse materials is in custody in Northampton County after authorities found him hiding in a child’s bed.
Noel A. Tirado, 41, of Northampton County, was at a friend’s house in Bethlehem earlier this month when agents from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office came to serve a warrant.
They found Tirado hiding underneath blankets in a child’s bed, wearing an empty holster. Officials said a loaded 9mm handgun was stashed in a dresser drawer in a nearby bedroom. Authorities did not mention whether a child was present.
Tirado is suspected of making videos of a child he knows. Authorities said he possessed other sexually explicit photos and videos of children.
Attorney General Dave Sunday said that while his agents were pursuing Tirado, they discovered he had additional warrants out of Lehigh, Northampton, and Monroe counties on suspicion of escape, terroristic threats, and simple assault.
Tirado has been charged with creating and possessing child sexual abuse materials, and he also faces a weapons charge. His bail has been set at $1 million cash.
