PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Norristown Police Chief Jaqueline Bailey-Davis has been placed on administrative leave — but officials won't say why.
According to The Times Herald, there has been tension between Bailey-Davis and Norristown leaders.
Norristown Municipal Administrator Leonard Lightner said that "this decision was made after careful consideration and is not taken lightly."
Lightner asked for the community's "understanding and patience as we navigate this matter."
Bailey-Davis was sworn in as Norristown's first Black female police chief on Jan. 2.
