Separate overnight shootings in North Philly leave 5 injured, including 3 teens

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are investigating two separate shootings in North Philadelphia Monday night that left five people injured, including three teens.

The first incident happened along 12th Street, near Cambria Street, around 9:30 p.m. A 19-year-old was struck by bullets in the chest and wrist, and a 55-year-old man was hit in the arm.

Eighteen shell casings were found at the scene. Both males were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Two hours later, at Ridge and Susquehanna avenues, a 16-year-old was shot in the shoulder and an 18-year-old was hit several times throughout the body. Both males are expected to physically recover.

Another man was also shot several times in the same incident. He is listed in critical condition.

Investigators are looking through surveillance video and social media for both shootings. Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call or text a tip to police at 215-686-TIPS.
