Stolen SUV crash in North Philly leaves one dead

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A stolen SUV crashed into two vehicles in North Philadelphia Saturday night, leaving one dead and two injured.

Authorities told our partners at NBC-10 Philadelphia that police first spotted the stolen Cadillac SUV near 6th and Allegheny Streets in the Fairhill neighborhood. The driver sped off and officers lost sight of the vehicle.

Around 9:30 p.m., police heard a crash near Castor and Aramingo Avenues.

The SUV hit a man in a wheelchair alongside the road. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died.

An adult and child in one of the impacted vehicles were injured and are in stable condition.

Police say four suspects were involved in the incident – one of them, a 19-year-old, is in custody.

Officers found three guns inside the SUV.

Police are still searching for the other three suspects.
