NORTH PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — More than 10,000 people jammed Temple’s Liacouras Center on Monday night for a Get-Out-To-Vote event featuring former President Barack Obama, Bruce Springsteen and John Legend.

All three spoke about why they’re voting for Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz on Nov. 5, but Springsteen and Legend also performed.

The Boss, aka Springsteen, played three songs to thunderous applause, but also spoke about what he wants in a president.

“I want a president that reveres The Constitution and the rule of law and the peaceful transfer of power,” he said.

Legend played a set, but spoke for just as long about why he supported the Harris-Walz ticket and why Philly should lean its way on Nov. 5.

“Philadelphia, Kamala Harris sees you, she’s been all over town listening to you, she’s ready to work for you,” he said.

But the star of the show was the former president, who spoke for 45 minutes, and appealed for the kind of turnout in Philadelphia that will lift the Harris-Walz ticket to the White House.

“Get off your couch and vote, help your neighbors and friends and family and coworkers go to the polls,” said Obama.
